Pets can pick up fleas from anywhere another infested animal has been, such as the garden or park – even indoor-only cats can be affected if another pet or human brings in a flea. And it doesn't take long for one little flea to become a big problem.
Ticks can be very irritating to pets and cause anaemia in severe infestations. Unlike in many countries around the World, ticks in New Zealand are not known to transmit diseases.
